During the Soirée Musicale, French singer and songwriter Eric John Kaiser invites you to experience a unique blend of education and musical enjoyment. You will explore the life and work of Francis Cabrel, one of the greatest names in French music, through fascinating anecdotes about his career, while celebrating his songs. The presentation will be primarily in French, with some passages in English to allow English-speaking attendees who enjoy French music to fully appreciate the event.

Francis Cabrel, born on November 23, 1953, in Agen, is an iconic artist known for his poetic lyrics and folk melodies. He rose to fame in 1979 with "Je l’aime à mourir" and remains a central figure in French music.

Known as The French Troubadour, Eric John Kaiser, born in Paris, is a singer-songwriter who reinvents Americana music through a French lens. Eric has released six full albums recorded in Paris, Oregon, and Quebec, and has performed in France as well as across North America. He has lived in Portland since 2006.
